Luke McLean set another benchmark last week by winning one of iRacing's biggest prize events. The GP Masters saw Luke take on thousands of other drivers, including non other than Virgin Racings Luca Di Grassi.
After an incredible move round the outside of turn 8 on lap 3, Luke managed to keep Mazda regular Andre Boettcher behind for the duration and take the victory.
Luke had this to say:
"I had a relatively bad qualifying but was lucky to start 3rd got a decent lap in near the end. Focused hard on getting a good start and luckily got Danny into T1 which set me up for a strait fight with Andre. It became apparent very quickly that my car was lower downforce. On lap 3 I think it was I got a great run on the back strait and decided to take the outside line for the fast right. It was a fun move with a bit of contact but luckily I got no damage. After that with the low downforce I was running I knew from the qualifying rounds that my tyres would go off towards the end. So I basically had Andre on my butt for the whole race and if I made 1 error he would have got me."
For his efforts Luke won a Dell Studio 17 laptop computer!
