Yes.....i have another question.

I'll go ahead and say that I'm from America, basically NASCAR country. Therefore, I'm not as exposed to cars with high-techy bits on them as much as the European folk (I had to explain to almost 30 people what a splitter was when NASCAR put it on the car). While I understand the setup theory behind the Mazda, the wings just throw me a curve.

Basically, I know how to adjust the handling using wing angles and when these would make a difference, but I can't ever tell when I can take wing away, therefore my laptimes will be about 2 seconds lower than what they probably could be.

Could anybody shed some light onto this for me? I'm not looking for a handout, I just would like to know how to go about setting the wings on my car.

Thanks!

Well in the Mazda I guess most people are running near minimum wing, so 13 rear to start, the front wing is more dependant on the track as the cars understeer quite a bit, I havent seen a front wing above 15 though.

In general if the track is a fast sweeping track with straights keep the wing lower to get a higher top speed on the straights. If it is twistier and slower you usually have higher wing to help with fast directional changes and increased aero grip in medium speed corners.

As an example at Silv I am using 13.5 front wing and 13 rear wing.

Thanks Dom! This would explain why I'm getting waxed on the straights! I had my wings at 21/20 front to back...
