View Full Version : Greger and Dom Qual 1-2 in the WTCC Race Department League
Greger Huttu and Dom Duhan began the Race Department WTCC championship in style by taking the top spots in prequal with their trusty BMW E-90s. With over 200 hundreds drivers entering competition was tight. That didn't stop Greger though as he romped to a spectacular time of 2.01.2 and Dom sealed 2nd position with a 2.01.9 despite a huge hangover apparently
The races are live tonight with the first race deciding the starting order for the second race, it should be interesting!

Congrats Redline boys on a textbook race. Gregger really showed a clean pair of heels right from the first race as did Dom. Maybe you played a bit with me allowing me to get close sniffs while I killed my tires doing so and eventually had to give up my third spot.
Second race was a bit meh for me, some of the younger drivers showed their inexperience and Dom I think ran into connection problems of another racer pitty. Great racing over all guys real pleasure to have such good competition.
On a side note do you guys release setups after the race or no. Reason I'm asking is I suffered from severe grip loss after lap 5 which was not the case before the latest patch. I wanna know if its my setup/driving style or in fact the game itself. Regardless I know its a combination of the two, just need to know which has more influence.
GR Gregger and Dom, good form.

I think I'll be uploading my setups at some point, pending permission from Dom. Just kidding.
There was a pretty big grip loss later in the races. I don't know if it's the track, but I think it'll happen everywhere. I haven't played Race 07 a lot so I don't know how it has been before this latest patch, but some people said it changed the tyre wear.
You can't do that much about it with the setup. You just need to have a balanced setup which doesn't make the car over or understeer too much during the stint. Your driving has a bigger influence. Make sure you don't brake too late, slide the car into the corner, miss the apex and then have to force the car to turn out of the corner with the throttle. The tyres don't like that. ;)
Smoothness is the key for saving tyres. Brake gently so you don't lock up, turn in smoothly, hit the apex and smoothly apply throttle and unwind the steering at the same time. You can do a lot of damage to the front tyres especially in fast turns if you try to turn the car too much with the steering wheel. If you're understeering after entering the corner too hard, get off the throttle instead of trying to force the car to turn with more steering.
I hope that helps. ;)

Great to have you guys! Nice show at Istanbul for Team Redline. Let's see what Valencia will bring you.
I won't be there this weekend to try and get a hold of you two because i will be at the real Valencia track with V-WTCC.
Maybe we will see you guys there too this season?
