I lacking pace in practice and could only hope for the best this race. 4th on the grid was a nice result already in quali. At the start, I totally forgot to get into my gear. Not sure what I was doing there… Martti and Daniel passed me and there was some contact in turn 1. Last year I gave too much room in turn 1 to avoid contact, this year I didn’t want to make that mistake again. I think Martti got damaged from that contact and he had to pit. Daniel was heavier on fuel and a nice t1 battle in lap 2 gave me p4. I felt like I had little damage after the first lap so I took it safe. Yet I was able to close the gap with Fulvio...

That was an exciting race! It was pretty much impossible to even get a small chance to overtake so it came down to the pitstops. Anyway, to start with qual, my lap wasn’t that great. I lost a tenth in both sector 1 & 5 and just missed the pole by 0.001s. I got a good start but it wasn’t good enough to challenge Hugo into T1 as he was on the inside. It’s really difficult to follow another car closely here because you can’t see the corners properly and you get aero understeer in a couple of critical spots preventing you from getting a good run for an overtake. We were both on two stops with Hugo and I could almost...

I don’t even like Watkins Glen much but it seems to be my lucky track as I’ve won every race here in the WCS. We didn’t have the ultimate pace this time around although I did a good preparation for the race with Atze. I would have needed a PB to be on pole so that wasn’t happening. With a better qual lap I could have been 3rd but in the end it didn’t matter as I got my best start ever and got by Martin immediately. I got close to Atze and Hugo into turn 1 but didn’t have room to do anything so backed off a bit. Hugo went wide and I suddenly found myself in the lead. Atze was three laps lighter on fuel than...

Kinda happy with the result! Our 2nd one-two finish for Team Redline this season! Still waiting for that win.. I was close this time! We worked hard on a setup that was consistantly drivable and I think we did a good job. Was able to hit proper laptimes since day one of testing and we couldn’t find much more in the setup without upsetting the handling too much. After making some ‘improvements’ a week later I tried the basic set and it was more stable and equally quick. So went for that one on race day. For qualy that was a great choice. First banker lap was good and save, resulting in a .5. This gave me the opportunity to...

That was exciting on the first two laps! After a bit of a disappointing qual (I aimed to do a 31.4 on the first lap and then see if I could improve on that a little on the second lap) I still went with two stops because it was faster although not as much as at Interlagos. I really wanted to get the lead from the start but Martin got a good one and held on to P1. Braking into the hairpin for the first time I immediately noticed that he was on one stop so I knew I’d have to get by as soon as possible. With a light car it felt like I had KERS and at the end of the first lap we were side by side through the last turn and then the first...

Well, that was a trouble-free event for me and I put myself in a position to win with a good qualifying lap and a clean launch from pole. The race was a bit lonely due to the way things settled down after the start and with Hugo and Atze having bad luck very early on. My qualifying lap was probably the best for me this season especially considering the fact that at this track you only get one lap. I lost a tenth to my PB lap in T2 even though I felt like I got through there well. But that corner is really strange and even though you feel like you nailed it, you can suddenly be over a half a tenth down. The rest of the lap went really well...
